Fall is Veggie Season!
Fall is synonymous with harvest time. Fall provides us with numerous vegetables all chock full of vitamins and nutrients…and they are delicious!
Pumpkin’s beautiful orange color is loaded with Vitamin A, which is linked to healthy eye sight. Its also low in calories and loaded with fiber, which can help keep our waistlines in check. Pumpkins are also high in antioxidants and has more potassium than a banana!
School is in session!
Another school year has begun!
This time of year can be a lot of fun for kids. Yes, it means summer is over, which is not so fun. But there is something exciting about starting a new school year. Finding out who your teachers are, taking your school supplies list to the local store to get everything you need, seeing all your friends again at school after the summer…Good times.
Your mom made you eat them. “You’ll grow up big and strong!” she said. Or perhaps you got the all too famous “You cant have any dessert until you eat your vegetables!” Why did our moms care so much about eating those darn veggies anyways?
As early back as I can remember I have always had a fascination with nutrition and healthy eating. I would ‘revise’ some of my mom’s recipes to make them healthier.
